From February 25th to 27th 2020, embedded world exhibition & conference, the leading international tradeshow for embedded system technologies, is coming back to Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, Germany. SECO, an established company in the field of embedded electronics and a proud long-term exhibitor will showcase, at booth 1-330, its latest solutions to the tens of thousands of expected visitors.
SECO’s booth, among the many products of its portfolio, will showcase the company’s range of the most up-to-date Intel®-based solutions, available in many different form factors, to fully answer a broad range of market demands and design requirements. SECO is a long-time Intel® partner and part of its Early Access Programs, delivering to the market the most advanced Intel®-based solutions available to date.
To exploit the 8th Gen Intel® Core™ and Celeron™ 4000 Series Processors (formerly “Whiskey Lake”) features in a standard form factor, SECO developed the COMe-C55-CT6, a COM Express™ 3.0 Compact Type 6 module designed for mobile applications, combining high versatility with great power and excellent energy-efficiency. Ranging from 2 to 4 cores, this module features an Intel® UHD Graphics 620 and two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots supporting DDR4-2400 memory (up to 32GB), and it comes with a variety of connectivity interfaces (4 x USB 3.1, 8 x USB 2.0, up to 8 x PCI-e x 1). With support for DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5 and OpenCL 2.1, and HW accelerated video decode and encode, the COMe-C55-CT6 excels in graphics and video performance, and is well-suited for biomedical and medical devices, edge computing, digital signage & infotainment, HMI, kiosks, transportation and measuring instruments.
The COMe-C08-BT6, instead, is a COM Express™ 3.0 Basic Type 6 Module with Intel®’s 9th generation Core™ / Xeon® / Pentium® / Celeron® (Coffee Lake Refresh) and 8th generation Core™ / Xeon® (formerly Coffee Lake) CPUs, with up to 6 cores for greater processing power. Mounting the Intel® UHD Graphics 630/P630 architecture with up to 48 execution units, this module can manage 3 independent displays at once, with a resolution up to 4096x2304 @60Hz, 24bpp. It also embeds an H.265 / HEVC hardware transcoder, a peculiarity that, combined with the outstanding performance and the compatibility with multiple video interfaces, makes this COM Express™ an ideal platform for projects operating in the field of gaming, digital signage, infotainment and HMI.
With regards to solutions based on Intel® Atom X Series, Intel® Celeron® J / N Series and Intel® Pentium® N Series (formerly Apollo Lake) processors, SECO will showcase products mounting processors from these families on each form factor.
Starting from SMARC modules, SECO will showcase its SM-B69, a SMARC Rel. 2.0 compliant module with the Intel® Atom X Series, Intel® Celeron® J / N Series and Intel® Pentium® N Series Processors. This high-performance, low-power, feature-rich solution, featuring a Dual Channel Soldered Down LPDDR4-2400 memory, can run up to 3 independent displays. It is ideal for many fields of application, like automotive, biomedical and medical, digital signage, IoT, mobile devices, robotics and visual computing.
As for the Pico-ITX form factor, the SBC-C41-pITX is a solution designed for IoT edge computing in harsh environments. It features Intel® Atom™ X Series, Intel® Celeron® J / N Series and Intel® Pentium® N Series Processors, integrated Intel® HD graphics 500 series controller and support for up to three independent displays. Also mounting 2x GbE, M.2 WWAN and WLAN slots, 8x GPI/Os, it’s the ideal solution for multiple video display solutions like edge computing, industrial control, info kiosks, IoT, surveillance, transportation.
The COMe-C24-CT6 is a COM Express™ 3.0 Compact Type 6 Module with the Intel® Atom™ X Series, Intel® Celeron® J / N Series and Intel® Pentium® N Series Processors. This module is a real powerhouse, delivering outstanding graphics performance through up to three independent displays at a time in 4K resolution. Its HW decoding/encoding capabilities support several video compression standards. All in all, this computer-on-module is a particularly great combination of high-end graphics and low power design and is the ideal match for low-power industrial applications.
Finally, the Q7-B03 is a Qseven® Rel. 2.1 compliant module with the Intel® Atom X Series, Intel® Celeron® J / N Series and Intel® Pentium® N Series Processors, merging high graphics performance and extreme temperature with unparalleled power efficiency. Also featuring broad connectivity capabilities, with 2x USB 3.0, 4x PCI-e, and 6x USB 2.0, the Q7-B03 is particularly suitable for low power embedded applications.
For those looking for a boxed solution, SECO developed the SYS-B68-IGW, a Smart Edge Compute Unit, a multi-connectivity and multi-protocol plug & play Industrial IoT gateway based on the Intel® Celeron® J / N Series and Intel® Pentium® N Series Processors.
