2020 edition of embedded world in Germany will provide the opportunity to proudly launch SECO’s partnership with Rockchip, presenting its first off-the-shelf product built on the Rockchip RK3399 processor and developed in 3.5” form factor: the SBC-C31.
The Rockchip RK3399 is a low power, high performance processor for computing, mobile internet devices and other smart device applications. Based on Big.Little architecture, it integrates Dual-core Cortex-A72 and Quad-core Cortex-A53. Both are high-performance, low-power and cached application processors. With regards to graphics, the Rockchip RK3399 features a Mali-T860MP4 GPU, with support for OpenGL ES1.1/2.0/3.0/3.1, OpenVG, OpenCL and DirectX 11.1.
The SBC-C31 ensures the right ratio between graphic & computing performance and cost.
Empowered by Rockchip RK3399 SoC, 2x Cortex-A72 MP cores and 4x Cortex-A53 MP cores, up to 1.8 GHz, this board comes with a 10-year support plan. It also mounts EG25-G, an LTE Cat 4 module especially optimized for M2M and IoT applications with worldwide LTE, UMTS/HSPA+ and GSM/GPRS/EDGE coverage.
The board integrates 4-Core Mali-T860MP4 GPU and an embedded VPU able to offer HW decoding/encoding of many video compression standards (H.264, VP8, VP9, MPEG-4/MPEG-2/VP8). Furthermore, graphic and display options include HDMI 4k interface, and LVDS single/dual channel interface, together with the support for two independent video outputs.
Memory-wise, the SBC-C31 is equipped with a soldered down LPDDR4 memory, up to 4GB total. It also offers a broad range of connectivity interfaces: USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 host ports, GbE, optional Wi-Fi, RS-232 or RS-485 or CAN, optional Modem with SIM slot or eSIM, M.2 WLAN 802.11, MIPI-CSI camera connector, and a dedicated connector for I2C Touch Screen Controller Support.
Among the optional interfaces there are Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Gyroscope and Luminance sensors on-board, together with an Ultra-low Power RTC.
Available in both Commercial (from 0°C to 60°C) and Extended (from -20°C to +85°C) temperature range, the SBC-C31 also integrates support for Linux Yocto, Android and Edgehog OS BSP. The board is compatible with SECO’s Industrial IoT platform Edgehog, which features – from hardware’s remote control to over-the-air update – will be showcased at embedded world as well.
The SBC-C31 is suitable for applications like digital signage, fitness equipment, HMI, info kiosks, and multimedia devices. Thanks to its complete set of peripheral interfaces, it can also be the right solution to many other smart device applications.
From February 25th to 27th, SECO is happy to welcome visitors to its stand 1-330 at embedded world 2020 in Nuremberg, to showcase its wide portfolio of products based on latest technologies.
