Arezzo, Italy – February 17, 2022. SECO, a global leader of technological innovation for Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, today announces a new embedded computing solution based on the AMD RyzenTM Embedded V2000 Series Processors: the COM Express® OPHELIA.
The AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V2000 processor family is built on the innovative “Zen 2” x86 core architecture, delivering a new class of performance with 7nm process technology, and outstanding power efficiency with configurable thermal design power (TDP) options as low as 10W. These processors also feature next-generation integrated AMD RadeonTM Graphics with up to 7 cores, supporting four independent 4K displays via DisplayPort/eDP and HDMI. The processor hosts a rich set of high-speed interfaces including multiple instances of USB 3.1 Gen2, PCIe® Gen3, SATA Gen 3, and Gigabit Ethernet.
To exploit the outstanding performance levels of these state-of-the-art processors in a standard form factor, SECO developed OPHELIA, a COM Express® 3.0 Type 6 Compact Module featuring the AMD RyzenTM Embedded V2000 SoCs, with up to eight “Zen2” CPU cores, offering a range of power from only 10 Watt up to 54 Watt TDP – allowing application-optimized computing and thermal power selection. Graphic performance is enhanced by the integrated AMD Radeon™ GPU with up to 7 Compute Units, supporting up to 4 independent digital display interfaces via combinations of DVI. DP, eDP, HDMI, and LVDS. COM Express® OPHELIA provides two DDR4 SODIMM memory slots, supporting up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 ECC and non-ECC memory. It also offers a wide range of connectivity interfaces: 1x Gigabit Ethernet; 1x SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps; 3x SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps; 8x USB 2.0; 8x PCIe Gen3 x1 lanes; PEG Gen3 x8; and 2x SATA Gen3. Optional features include a Wi-Fi 802.11ac/Bluetooth 5.0 radio and a trusted platform module (TPM) 2.0. Supported operating systems include Microsoft® Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu.
Leveraging the remarkable features of the AMD RyzenTM Embedded V2000 SoCs in a small form factor design (only 95x95 mm), SECO’s COM Express® OPHELIA fits a wide range of applications requiring excellent performance per Watt, high-end graphics performance and advanced multimedia, broad connectivity, and enhanced security. Featured applications include digital signage, imaging, infotainment, gaming, and biomedical devices.
Along with many others SECO solutions, COM Express® OPHELIA will be on display at embedded world 2022, in Nuremberg, Germany from June 21 to 23.
